Total Print Hub AI Policy
This policy explains how Total Print Hub treats AI-assisted design features. AI features are disabled by default and can be used only after the merchant enables approved provider, retention, region, entitlement, quota, and review settings.
What AI can do
- Create structured design briefs and editable draft design plans for product personalization workflows.
- Search approved artwork, fonts, colors, templates, print areas, and product setup metadata through server-side tools.
- Generate preview or planning evidence that still has to pass normal save, quote, cart, export, and supplier-production gates.
What AI cannot do
- Bypass Shopify authentication, tenant boundaries, billing entitlement, product setup, print-area validation, quote validation, cart-reference signing, export validation, or supplier handoff checks.
- Store browser-side provider API keys or expose OpenAI credentials to merchants or customers.
- Make generated text, generated raster concepts, or AI-selected artwork production-ready without human review, rights confirmation, sanitizer/preflight checks, and merchant approval.
Billing gate
AI-assisted draft generation is a commercial capability and cannot bypass Shopify billing entitlement. See billing and plans for subscription and access rules.
Provider and retention
The current optional external AI provider path is OpenAI Responses API brief generation, called only from the server when AI_PROVIDER=openai, or when AI_PROVIDER=auto has complete OpenAI runtime inputs, and merchant policy permits it. Requests are built with store:false. The app records provider request IDs, token usage, prompt/response hashes, bounded product-context counts, and summary evidence; it does not persist raw prompts, raw model output, raw design documents, object-storage keys, signed URLs, Shopify tokens, supplier credentials, or customer payment data in AI job evidence.
Customer content and generated assets
Customer uploads and merchant library assets are used only through tenant-scoped, approved-reference paths. Generated concepts remain draft material until vectorization or print-method preflight, malware/upload checks where applicable, SVG sanitization, provenance review, rights approval, and human review pass. A merchant must not manufacture or submit supplier orders from AI output until those normal production controls pass.
